CHAS
Over the years local authority health and safety and procurement professionals, with the support of the Health and Safety Executive, have developed the Contractor Health and Safety assessment scheme (CHAS). The scheme is available for use by any public and private sector organizations to use when shortlisting contractors, suppliers and consultants (companies) who apply to work for them. It provides information about the health and safety part of their application. Companies apply to join the scheme so everyone knows they meet acceptable standards of health and safety compliance. Clients from both the public and private sectors are users of the scheme and our database.
NICEIC
NICEIC is a trading name of NICEIC Group Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Electrical Safety Council. Under licence from the Electrical Safety Council, NICEIC acts as the electrical contracting industry's independent voluntary regulatory body for electrical installation safety matters throughout the UK and maintains and publishes registers of electrical contractors that have been assessed against scheme requirements, including the national electrical safety standard BS 7671, the IEE Wiring Regulations.
Constructionline
Constructionline is the UK's register of pre-qualified local and national construction and construction-related suppliers. The concept of a single national database was proposed by the 1994 Latham Report. Since then Constructionline has grown and been updated in line with the needs of modern procurement. The OGC Common Minimum Standards and The Local Government Task Force also recommend using Constructionline as part of the pre-qualification and tendering process.
ECA
Founded over 100 years ago, the Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) is the UK's largest and leading trade association representing electrical, electronic, installation engineering and building services companies. Recognised by government, commerce and industry as the authoritative voice of the sector, the ECA is among the nation's best resourced representative associations. The Association works closely with government and key national bodies to improve industry standards and procedures. Its comprehensive, progressive and innovative services are highly respected and renowned throughout the industry.
